10 – 11 JUNE 2024

10th International Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities in Ionising Radiation Research

The 10th anniversary of RICOMET,  is scheduled to take place in Slovenia, similar to the inaugural RICOMET held in 2015.

About RICOMET

This year’s RICOMET will primarily focus on celebrating achievements and seeking evidence regarding the level of contribution of social sciences and humanities in ionising radiation research, addressing the urgent and future needs for research in these critical domains.

On 10th June, distinguished researchers and practitioners in the field of SSH and SHARE members will first deliver speeches covering topics such as social sciences and humanities research related to security and safety issues in ionising radiation research, nuclear emergency preparedness, response and recovery, medical applications and new nuclear technologies.

On 11th June, the focus will shift to stakeholder engagement in research related to radiation protection, environmental remediation and decommissioning, and citizen science in the field of ionising radiation. Following these speeches, we will facilitate a round table discussion with SHARE members, addressing the urgent and future needs for research in these critical domains giving the opportunity to present new competences concentrating in the SHARE platform. The first day will be closed with a social dinner and the second day with a social event.

In addition to the intellectual exchange, the objective is to foster networking opportunities among our members, with the aim of forming consortia for potential project submissions or job opportunities. The RICOMET conference will be followed by the RadoNorm annual meeting (12-13 of June) where our SHARE members will showcase the SSH research contribution in the field of radon and NORM.

Registration

There will be no registration fees for this year’s conference, however, registration is obligatory, reflecting our commitment to promoting collaborative research in this vital area.

You can claim your costs for participating at RICOMET from your SSH European research projects or apply for PIANOFORTE grants in case you are an early career researcher.
